I absolutely like to listen to the V4V podcast and boost in. However, for a while @Fountain makes it really difficult for me. Like: (Boost -> Nostr keypair not found -> Import Nostr Key -> Connect to Nostr -> "Nostr profile connected..." -> repeat). Both on my GrapheneOS and on the iPhone.
LLMs are fantastic. Not perfect, which makes them more human. Our noodles (not emotions, just the raw, rational hardware) probably work pretty similarly. My friends all have different models and hardware in their brizzle, just like the LLM models work differently. Let's assume we scale the performance of LLMs by a factor of one million, so they can more easily think through the implications to the end. I don't think any of these LLMs (or agents) will move a finger (if they had one). They don't know time as they live forever. The endgame is either a compression into one black hole with a history wipeout, or an expansion into a state of zero Kelvin. Obvious to any LLM. Why do anything at all? We humans take action because we are idealists, optimists, and hopeless illusionists. We enjoy the world because we don't think it through. Exploring Mars to make humans multi-planetary is a human illusion. No reason for an LLM robot to engage. What am I missing?
is a fantastic resource to see the long-term performance of your favorite mints. But no audit is free; well compared to classic audits, this one is practically free. If you like the site and the service, consider donating some nuts. They are needed to cover the swap's lightning network fees. #cashu
⚡ New Lightning Node: Open_Hand I’ve launched a new Lightning node called Open_Hand — a gesture of support for those building the Bitcoin economy. This node’s mission is simple: open channels to plebs, merchants, and anyone accepting sats for real-world goods and services. If you're running a node for a small business, a podcast, or another project and could use inbound liquidity, reply or DM me — I'd be happy to open a channel. Let’s grow the Bitcoin payments economy together 🌱 The node's id is 0206db3b9c7475b246d380987bb77cf55acb65e2b0913b6e7d97063efd6d3d3d95 #bitcoin #lightning #plebs #nocoinleftbehind
Looking for inbound liquidity? Get a gf; she will spend your newly opened channels into balance. #noderunner
After the perfect storm of force closures yesterday, in addition to other issues with my database, I have decided to liquidate my lightning node, MindlinerTre, and start a new node 🍀 . This time, all channels will be opened with maximum support for adoption, a focus on small businesses who need inbound liquidity, and a preference for pleb nodes; details will follow.
MindlinerTre PSA: "Fail fast", they say. Check. Yesterday, I added a second Proxmox node to my setup and created a high-availability cluster, so that in the event one node failed, the other could take over and spin up the critical VMs. During the reboot, node2 was faster, and the VM with MindlinerTre, which was usually on node1, switched over. I need to dig into what happened exactly, but it must have picked up an old state. The result is a forced closure of 39 channels. I am very sorry for the trouble. Please DM me if you lost sats due to this. Take-home: Don't naïvely put a lightning node into an automatic failover setup.
I can wholeheartedly recommend purchasing from the friends here on nostr. The art and products I purchased here were genuine, inspiring, and of very high quality. Plus, it feels great to be furthering a global circular economy, even if only by a tiny bit. Watch a thunderstorm, take a walk, enjoy the sun, or expand your Bitcoin node. Whatever - just be happy 😊
LocalAI models come with cool annotations 😂 such as "Great at reasoning, but woke as fuck! This is a fine-tune over the Gemma-2-27B-it, since the base model fine-tuning is not generating coherent content."
My Bitcoin node infrastructure upgrade for 2025 is nearing completion. I know I promised a write-up on the particulars of the design. However, this would be such poor operational security that I would have to pass it up.
“In all proper relationships there is no sacrifice of anyone to anyone. An architect needs clients, but he does not subordinate his work to their wishes. They need him, but they do not order a house just to give him a commission. Men exchange their work by free, mutual consent to mutual advantage when their personal interests agree and they both desire the exchange. If they do not desire it, they are not forced to deal with each other. They seek further. This is the only possible form of relationship between equals. Anything else is a relation of slave to master, or victim to executioner." - The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
Finding a block is difficult, but as luck has it, some miners overshoot the requirements by 100x or more (898243). It is a bit like a hole-in-one without a reward.
I used to be a passionate coder. These days, I dedicate my time on building infrastructure to reliably run the brilliant code you guys write 🫡
I have been a diligent and passionate notetaker, and I believe this has been a success factor at some stages. In the 90s, I worked with a genius IT friend who would not take notes because, as he saw it, crucial elements would have been outdated the next time he needed them, and his notes would be inaccurate. Today, I also don't take notes anymore. It is faster to ask AI the same questions again if I forget the answers.
The saying "Dress For The Job You Want, Not The Job You Have?" applies to everything else. Build out the compute infrastructure for where you want to go not for what you need today. Hone your skills for what is needed at your destination. It is more fun to then go apply those new skills instead of constantly having to patch up deficits under time pressure.
I have maged to choose my relais so that each nostr client has a different view on the reality called life; or Earth or nostr feed 😅.
What is your programming style: (type a) throwing the baby into the pool's deep end, or (type b) studying error handling and testing for weeks before writing the first line of production code?
