If a libertarian society was a successful way of organizing (dis-organizing) you would see examples of thriving libertarian civilizations throughly history. You don't because its not sustainable.
At best you can have a conservative small government.
The reason commies and libertarians are both writhing is because they are being sucked into the vacuum of the conservative right.
