There are no "insider trading" rules on futures products. That being said, someone always knows every big announcement Fed decision ahead of time and takes advantage of the information.

The problem with having thousands of oz in metals at this point is you have no way to get rid of it. No coin shop will have liquidity for you to exchange it.
So unless you believe we're going to be using silver dollars as money again you're up a lot of money on paper but you're kinda stuck.
