Hey Nostr, so I want to start my mining journey. Yes I know this will be a lot of work Yes I understand there will be many headaches No I'm not trying to be rich. Im interested in helping to secure the network. Im looking into the used antminer S9 because of the power cable. Is there anyone here that can give me some advice on buying asics, what other hardware will I need. Is there any software requirements? Should I run my own verification node? And if so should I use a raspi 4 or a start 9? I'm trying to do this on a budget so whatever you guys can do to help would be great! Thanks

What is up Nostr!!!! It's 2024 the year of the halving!! And we are gearing up for an insane year. There's so much happening in 24, I've got some things that I'll be talking about later in the year but let me just say that this year is going to be fucking huge!!! Had a conversation with an older gentleman while we were in the sauna today. He asked me as a young person what's wrong with the world...naturally I began to talk about the corruption of the state and the unilateral attack on family and individual sovereignty. Looking for solutions I brought up bitcoin and we talked back and forth for almost 30 minutes. Any ways long story short I got his email and his number and He's asked me for more information about bitcoin, so he can start his education. I'm thinking @Bitcoin Magazine #21daysofbitcoin as a good start. Does anyone have better ideas or places to go for beginners to start peering into the rabbit hole. Remember people this dude is like 70 so we need to meet him where he is. Thanks guys.

#asknostr okay so I am attempting to install gpt4all on my Mac. I am not sure how to locate the gpt4all-chat in the repository using QT. I'm close I can feel it I think im just missing somthing. is there someone who could help walk me through this process so i dont fuck somthing up? I have an older Mac so maybe that's my issue but I'm pretty sure that I can still run it. I have a 2015 MacBook pro. Somthing I really enjoyed reading was this article from Bitcoin Magazine highlighting the need for local jurisdictions to enforce their rights by their non-compliance with new laws and regulations regarding restriction of citizen's constitutional rights. Super easy to read and very informative. Thanks @preston and @miljan for this incredible episode on Nostr, and free speech. I have been on Nostr since September and I haven't looked back other than to create a bitcoin group on Facebook. I actually deleted all my other social apps...except for facebook. I completley agree that nostr has a more authentic feel than Twitter or Instagram. I don't feel the need nor do I catch myself doom scrolling. I appreciate you both helping me understand the nostr protocol even more in depth. Preston , nostr is also a passion project of mine. Not in the sense of development but as a user interacting with other plebs. It's been alot of fun over here on nostr.
