Every year during the 5 years I stayed, there was the sonar festival in Barcelona, still is I think. And every year I'd get in either via someone's guest list or by climbing a fence, stumbling upon a staff tag or some shit. it was dope! But generally speaking, everything happening in the clubs that was unrelated to sonar during that period, the "off-sonar", would be even doper. You'd basically get to see the talents playing next year at sonar, but in a more intimate setting and cheap as fuck. I'd always play some venues, thinking eventually I'll end up at the sonar. Although I quickly came to terms with the fact that I was neither ready nor willing to do the things required to thrive in that industry, my music career was fairly successful. But an invitation to plat sonar never manifested.
