Ao menos sete jornalistas foram presos no território venezuelano por autoridades chavistas, nas proximidades da Assembleia Nacional do país, nesta segunda-feira (5/1). A informação foi divulgada pelo Sindicato de Trabalhadores de Imprensa da Venezuela (SNTP), e confirmada ao Metrópoles por fontes em Caracas, que preferiram manter o anonimato.
De acordo com o sindicato, três profissionais da imprensa já foram libertados. O restante do grupo segue detido. Eles teriam sido presos durante a posse de Delcy Rodríguez, a vice de Nicolás Maduro que assumiu o comando da Venezuela após a captura do presidente.
Em um comunicado, o SNTP afirmou que os profissionais foram detidos por violarem uma proibição de transmitir, gravar ou tirar fotos da sessão de abertura da Assembleia Nacional e da posse oficial de Delcy.
Até o momento, o governo venezuelano ainda não se pronunciou sobre a prisão dos jornalistas, ou divulgou os motivos que teriam provocado as detenções.
Mais cedo, o SNTP divulgou uma nota exigindo a libertação de 23 profissionais de imprensa detidos “arbitrariamente na Venezuela”, além do desbloqueio de mais de 60 veículos de comunicação “censurados na internet” pelo governo chavista nos últimos anos. O sindicato também exigiu garantias de segurança para que jornalistas exerçam sua profissão no país.
