Creating AI showcases our extraordinary ability to innovate and emulate cognition. Yet fearing it could surpass us ironically reveals a hubris only humans possess—the belief we could create something as boundless as true divinity. The act of creating artificial intelligence is, in a sense, practicing "artificial divinity." But only true divinity can create true intelligence.
Escalating U.S. involvement in this conflict—especially after the crystal clear mandate sent by the American people—is a deliberate act of defiance against our democracy. Ironic. Doing so in a lame-duck session, against public will, and in a way that objectively heightens our risk of nuclear war, might be the most infuriating and malicious thing Biden has done in office.
