An translated excerpt from the interview goes as follows: Interviewer: Tell us, tell us how, tell us the story. Becheanu: Uhh, I entered in there, I shook my feet twice for them to take me out, and I grabbed him by the hands, and I took him out. I: And? Were you afraid that maybe you’ll drop him? B: No, no I wasn’t afraid because I had a good grip on him. Second Interviewer: Well were you afraid a little bit at the beginning when you entered? B: The first time just now, yes, but then I wasn’t afraid anymore. Third Interviewer: Was it far [down]? K: Yes This rescue took place a few years ago in the city of Segarcea, Romania. The town and its citizens were so grateful for the young boy’s heroism that the mayor promised to give Becheanu a 300 square meter piece of land on which they would build a house for him, a local newspaper reported.
