Is there a reason not to put an ecash request as an extra field in a nostr profile? My thinking is that it would serve as a sort of lightning address for ecash. Clients that don’t support it would just ignore that field.

#asknostr is an awesome hashtag.
It’s like free, open tech support. And you can play both sides.
It is not readily apparent, but with consideration, it is clear that the only successful path is to fear the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, and keep his commands. (Eccl. 12:13-14).
This is true for the domains of Family, Community, State, and Nation. You can see it by looking at the fruit that comes from different ideologies. Libralism, Wokeism, even Capitalism separated from morality… all these fail and lead society to chaos. We were made to be willing subjects to our gracious King, anything less will lead to destruction.

An app must be enjoyable before it’s fun.
In development, it’s so tempting to just work on new features but the priorities must be Stability -> UX -> New Features.
Prompting ChatGPT to give me a detailed prompt for Codex has been a game changer for me today.

I was looking at the NIP for the kind3 following list and it says the content field should be left empty. This seems like a perfect sport for an encrypted contact list payload, no?
Is there another NIP that defines an encrypted contact list standard?

🚀 Big Taskify update just dropped!
TLDR
Sharing is smoother, syncing across devices is way better, and contacts got a serious glow-up.
What’s new:
• Wallet: Full NIP-60 support for seamless syncing between clients
• Sync: Shared Board IDs and settings now back up to Nostr and stay synced across all your devices
• Contacts: Taskify now publishes a clean default profile for new users with lightning + ecash info prefilled
• Contact Cards: Super easy sharing plus quick import from npub or NIP-05
Taskify keeps getting better. Try it out and let me know what you think!

I’m more convinced lately that real Nostr and Bitcoin adoption will come from apps that don’t lead with “this is a Nostr/Bitcoin app”.
Over the holidays my family started using Taskify for the shared week planner… now they all have Nostr profiles and Lightning wallets.

My favorite part of school right now is the introductions because I get to subtly shill my app, and by extension, nostr and Bitcoin to the class all in one go 😁
There are open bounties on the Taskify feedback board for any great ideas you have to improve the app.
To claim, simply install the web app, try it out, and submit your ideas in the notes section of the relevant task on the board ID listed below 👇. If your idea gets implemented into the app, the bounty will be signed over to you for redemption.

The latest Taskify update automatically derives a nostr key pair from shared board IDs and uses it to sign all published events. This means that task updates are published with the same pubkey across clients on a per-board basis. This allows for replaceable and deletable events which will improve performance, and reduces the issue of stale tasks popping up and then disappearing on load.
