Why have the dollar backed by (i.e. exchangeable for) a commodity? To prevent money printing, to link the dollar to the real world, to give it real value. Why not just use the thing it's exchangeable for (e.g. gold)? Because gold is hard to carry around and hard to cut into arbitrary pieces. With bitcoin, there is no need for a dollar at all. Why have a dollar exchangeable for bitcoin rather than just using bitcoin? What additional value does the dollar add in this case? Nothing. A bitcoin backed dollar is worse than just using bitcoin.
Except, people are used to dollars and know how to use them in their bank accounts.

June is a terrible time to be a Christian in the West working for a large company. Pride is a celebration of homosexuality, which is anti-god, anti-family. God made us male and female. He loves everyone, but hates our sin. Pride is clearly listed as a sin in the Bible. To say so at work would result in dismissal.
Did i hear you ask for a biblical book recommendation?
1. A gospel, probably Mark if you want straight truth. Matthew if you want a religious angle, John for the spiritual.
2. Genesis for the fastest background to what on Earth is going on.
3. Job for its depth into the human condition.
4. Revelation to see the Jesus as he is now.
5. Daniel to see God's powerful hand on human history, and the veil pulled back on the spiritual natire of the real world, the rise and fall of empire.
If you read one, be sure to come and comment. I'd love to hear your story.
Alfred.
In the face of a perceived threat from a Coronavirus, people's across the world willingly gave up fundamental rights in exchange for perceived security. What did I learn?
1. Your rights are temporary. Other people will enthusiastically remove those rights in exchange for their perceived security.
2. A constitution won't help you.
3. The police and armed forces do not serve you - they will trample on your face from the back of a horse, or chase you across an empty beech to ensure compliance.
4. Do not store up for yourself treasures on Earth where moth and rust corrupt and thrives break in and steel. My hope cannot be taken from me. My King is in heaven, and He still has a plan for this world better than we can conceive.
5. Everything we own on Earth can be taken by the government. It's depressing, but it's better to accept it and plan accordingly.
6. Every emergency will be used by the government to cement its power.
7. Take joy in EVERY good thing God gives you. Seize the day. Life is rich, His word never returns void, but is always fruitful.
GOD BLESS YOU, AND CAUSE HIS FACE TO SHINE UPON YOU.
