There is a new #MeshCore repeater closer to me. However, closer does not mean close. The thing is still ~40 miles away, but considering the closest one used to be ~70 miles away, that's an improvement.

Hmmm, so today was "let's run #AI on my local machine" day. I installed #Ollama and then found out I had to be careful because "open weight" and "open source" are different but are both considered as "open". The only truely #FOSS model I am aware of is olmo from #AI2.
"ollama run olmo-3:7b" worked and gave me a local AI to play with. However, the thing is very verbose and takes a lot of tokens to answer questions and so is slow on my machines.
It definitely works. It just takes a long time. I guess I got used to the speed of nano-gpt and had my expectations set WAY to high.
Livin that 256kbps life.
Our fiber went down several hours ago and they've found the damage but said it's pretty extensive and will take a couple hours to repair. My guess is somebody hit it with a backhoe or something while doing some digging.
Well, I didn't notice this at the time, but apparently like nine days ago, a #MeshCore node wandered close enough to be picked up by my node. I would not have expected that since currently at least. The node density is like 1 for every 172,000 people. And I only live in a city of like, say, 50 to 60,000. As the number of nodes increases and that number decreases farther and farther, I assume I will start to pick up nodes wandering into my range more often. This time was just happenstance, but it will begin to occur more often.
Oh nice, #MeshCore just released a new update that extends battery life up to 30% on nRF52 companions
I just finished V for Vendetta. It was in book form and was written before the movie came out and it was an absolutely amazing book. If you haven't read it or seen the movie, you really, really should. #Books

Oh look, Barron Trump is using the Monero prediction market.
Because it totally must be him. I mean after all, nobody would lie about their name on a fully anonymous market. Right???

I tried checking into a ham radio simplex net. I could hear net control, but my rubber duck on my HT just wasn't making the trip.

Was listening to #FreedomTechFriday about #NanoGPT and they mentioned you are supposed to be able to search "local" in the models list and get a very basic model just in your web browser by clicking install.
Well, I pulled up the website on my phone and tried to search for it and did not immediately see it.
The creators of #XMRBar have launched #XMRWin which is a prediction market that collects no #KYC and uses #Monero and is built to preserve your #privacy. Short term markets such as "Will #Bitcoin, #Ethereum, etc be above x price in 10 minutes / 1 hour?" are already live. The team says they will have other markets live by next week. I have no affiliation with the service other than I think it sounds cool. I will post my referral link and for full transparency purposes. If you use it, then I get 25% of the fees you generate for six months.
