I need a Tales of the Jedi episode where Jocasta Nu beats someone down so badly she rethinks her entire life and dedicates herself to the Archives as a form of redemption. #StarWars #TalesOfTheJedi image

Star Wars: The Quest for the Hidden City was a nice surprise in what has been a string of slower, more methodical High Republic books. The plot is fairly simple, unfolding in the background of the greater conflict at the time, serving as more of a throughway. It’s a classic Jedi adventure, with most of the focus on our young Jedi protagonists. Along the way, lessons are learned, the action moves fast, and the pacing is excellent. The characters are also extremely likable, making it an engaging read from start to finish. The only downside is that it skews a bit toward a younger audience, so finding the right balance may be a consideration for some readers. That said, it’s still a super fun adventure and one I highly recommend. 4/5. image

Star Wars: Convergence—full disclosure, this book took me a year to finish and completely derailed my High Republic journey. Somewhere along the way, we end up in a Romeo and Juliet-style Star Wars story, but the execution falls flat. The core of the book revolves around two warring families brought together through what I guess was their best idea at the time. Meanwhile, the Jedi storyline focuses more on the Pathfinder class rather than the larger conflicts of the era. The pacing is all over the place, the political intrigue lacks any real intrigue, and the story just drags. That said, there is a stretch—maybe two hours out of the 13+ hour listen—where things finally come together. The events of the book might prove important down the line, but in my opinion, even if you're making your way through the High Republic era, this one is safe to skip. 2/5. #starwars #bookreview image

How in the world can a plastic gas can cost $20? 2 gallons There’s plastic everywhere I could’ve brought my own plastic. I have plastic here. Now that I think about it, why are we even paying money for plastic. Crap is super toxic and terrible in every way shape and form and it’s everywhere. And no you’re charging me $20 for a gas can.
