Is there any GrapheneOS, F-Droids, etc.. but for Android TVs? I just got one and it's a bloatware nightmare.
So far I got this far:
- To download and install custom APK, there is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.esaba.downloader (but you have to install it via Google Play first, so you need Google account anyway, and that sucks)
- YouTube App:

Photovoltaic system has covered half of my consumption in October.
Till 9. Oct I was heatingy whole house (100m2 floor size) with electricity only (heat pump + electric wires in the floor) to 21.5°C (70.7°F).
Yes, it is exceptionally warm autumn here. But still it's soo satisfying.
However it's not just the photovoltaic system:
- house isbe pretty well insulated
- I have heat pump with recuperation to keep warm in while wanting
- I optimize heating/pre-heating for both house and hot water based on prediction
- my wife is onboard and knows what to do and not to do to effectively use the solar gains (this is VERY important)

I did not found any good Keyboard for Android. I require:
- swipe
- auto-correct
- both above in multi-language so I don't need to manually switch them
- voice input in multi-language
- fully offline
- open-source
------
My suboptimal solution is:
- Install Google Gboard
- It needs an internet access just for a while to probably download something (I assume languages)
- Then I turned network permission OFF and I will never turn it on again
------
It has all features I need (except the voice input) and works offline with exception of the very first setup.
Not great, not terrible.
Do you know about better alternative?
Is Nostr dead? Who shall I follow? My timeline is dying.
Do you have an Twitter/X account? Then you are doing it wrong!
1. Erase all your Tweets
2. Request data erasal
3. Delete your account
4. (Optional, if you really want to read some good content creators on Twitter/X) Install Squaker to use Twitter/X in read-only mode without an account
5. Start using your Nostr account more, build the new world and leave the legacy one
6. Celebrate, you just started to build the future

Photovoltaic tip #3: Make sure you have good distribution of the load on the phases.
Most invertors have limit at 3kW of power. This means if you want to run electric stove, kettle and a washing machine at same time you need to have them on different phases.
If you don't, you end up with buying power from grid which is not economical, or overloading the invertors and they will shut down.
This is what helps us with that.

Photovoltaics Tip #2
In summer, you will have surplus of electricity. The electric boiler is therefore no-brainer. This way you can have ~half of the year hot water for free*.
Good idea is to have 3-phase heating spirial. This way you have basically the 3 independent heating elements (ideally 1.2kW each). Then you manage it in a way that you turn on/off those separate spirals so you can regulate consumption based on the amount of your surplus power.
This way you:
- don't overload one phase with 2-3kW spiral (basic invertors have limit around 3kW + they will start overheating if you run them at 3kW for long time)
- you won't be using your batteries that much, so it will prolong their lifespan (in island mode)
- you won't use expensive grid power when you have free solar one (in hybrid - grid connected mode)
*Ofc, the FV system comes with the aquisition costs.
Photovoltaics will give you indepence of the grid for ~half a year.
Not great, not terrible.
But you need to learn how to live with it.
Tip #1: Disconnect yourself from the grid in the spring and try to live as much as you can. This way, you will simulate the grid failure and you will aquire the skills necesary for running it this way.
By the time she grows up, the US dollar will loose more then half of its value.
Luckily, she was born into the Bitcoin Age.

Having the FV doesnt't mean you are ready for the grid failures (remember the state runs the grid, it's miracle it's still workng).
You need to know how to operate it when grid is off.
Run your FV in island mode as much as you can. It will teach you how to operate it and how to manage it to use it the most efficient way.
There are many aspects to it:
- phase overload
- invertor overhearing
- managing the storage/usage of the excess energy
- eventually managing the charging of your car
Learn by doing!
I got myself a new phone, finally.
I am migrating data over and it works beautifully.
No need for Google Drive, or any Apple "Cloud". No third party to store my data.
Local first os the way to go for any Sovereign Individual.

Today, it is 18th day I am running my house disconnected from the grid. Photovoltaic panels are my only source of electricity.
If feels amazing.
Of course I won't be able to do this during winter. But it's still a great feeling, the taste of independence.
The optionality level of my life increased drastically.

Lol, this what you get when you try to please the lords. Developing iOS app is waste of time. Interacting with Apple is waste of time.
Asking for permission is seeking for denial.

I decided I automate nearly everything in my house. Smart House solutions are pretty done today with many competitors are established.
What is not done, are ideas and solutions and whrre and how to apply them.
- ✅ Automatic lightning based on presence
- ✅ Different colors (temperature) and intensity of the light, based on the time of the day dusk and dawn
- ✅ Night mode which is turned on manually from bedrooms which makes lights even dimmer
- ✅ Automatic shading based on time of the day (in respect to the dusk/dawn times)
- ✅ Alarm based on the presence sensors
- ✅ Presence simulation (light goes on randomly to simulate presence in the house when we are away)
- 🛠️ Automatic watering system for lawn and trees in the garden
- ✅ Integration with thermal pump and automation of heating/cooling
- ✅ CO2 detection and automation of ventilation when it's too high (in bedroom and living room)
- 🛠️ Automation of outdoor cooling (sprinklers)
- 🛠️ Monitoring of the water levels in the water tank
- 🛠️ Integration with Photovoltaic System to manage power store it in hot water/batteries or sell it
- ✅ Monitoring of the power consumption per different systems (water heating, thermal pump, ...)
- 🛠️ Weather station to provide information for system to protect house (raise shadings up in the storm) and for watering system
- ✅ Safety rules to turn off the forgotten stuff on (heating in bathrooms, ...)
- ✅ Smoke detectors will not just to scream but also send notifications to the mobile app and potentially escalate
- 🛠️ Outdoor cameras
- ✅ Window open/close monitoring
- 🛠️ Alerting for windows open in case of storm
- 🛠️ Automation door lock with bell + maybe NFC and chip implant in hand to open it
- 🛠️ Sound system
Ideas:
- 💡Sell electricity from Photovoltaic directly to my neighbor for Bitcoin (to heat his hot water tank)
- 💡Automation of small indoor hydroponic system for winter and outdoor bigger one for the season
- 💡❓Integrate with first response agency in case of security alarm or fire emergency.
- 💡❓Indoor cameras (stairs, walkways, ..), but there is privacy concern
- 💡 Integration with robotic vacuum cleaner (I want to try Valetudo open-source software)
- 💡 Integration with robotic lawnmower
