What are the trade-offs of having multiple relays? What’s the optimal number given the bandwidth?

GM ☕️ Have a great weekend nostrers! I still don’t know exactly the name on nostr inhabitants and the name of nostr land

What do you think about the special tax on electricity for mining? - it would introduce a precedent where government decides what is a good and bad use of energy - miners will just migrate as they have already done - pushes the production cost of Bitcoin up, therefore price should go up (although the production cost is just a far lower bound of price usually) - demonstrates there are people in charge who didn’t even open 1 book on macroeconomics. More energy => more GDP, it’s that simple. You should introduce incentives to create abundant energy, Bitcoin has literally been one of those incentives for Texas, not introduce friction to spend energy (for reflexivity less spending reduces capex investment which reduces production) TLDR yea, it’s a silly as it sounds, let’s hope it doesn’t go through

The feeling when you zap a note but the zap icon doesn’t turn yellow I don’t think there a word for it in English, maybe in German or Japanese?

A couple of beginner’s questions: - what’s the name of land of Nostr? I thought Nostrica, like Antarctica, but then it’s the name of the conference, so maybe something else? - what’s the name of Nostr people? Nostrich singular and Nostriches plural? I’ve seen a couple of variations, still not sure what’s what - are clients like tribes and relays like cities? The tribe of Damus meets the tribe of Amethyst in the relays of x and y? Thanks!

GM ☕️ ☕️ ☕️ In need of the triple cup of coffee here

Just to double check: - with Damus you can only zap for a minimum of 500 sats Other clients may let you set a different value for generating the invoice, but not here, right?

So, here is the plan: -slam some login on the thing -run the validation on the metadata -slam a green check if everything ok -rate limit the calls to image recognition which is on a t2 micro 🥴 Then it’s chest day!

Thoughts? Rather than jpegs, you can use the same inscription technique to store L2 proofs. Starkware does very interesting cryptography for zero knowledge. I didn’t really read it through but if you only commit the proof of the L2 block, I find it interesting. The difference with liquid would be that there’s no federation to trust. In this L2 you can have confidentiality and all other sort of rules. Well, at least it’s better than jpges
