Walk through the feed. Everyoneโs a sage now. Theyโve got the candles lit, the incense burning, and the perfect lighting for their "deep dive" into non-duality. But scroll down, and there it is: the frantic posting, the thirst for comments, the desperate need to be seen as the one who "gets it."
Itโs a joke, really. You canโt build an empire on silence. The algorithm doesnโt care about your inner peace; it cares about your engagement. So the "guru" has to perform. They have to turn their awakening into a meme, a reel, a thread. Because if they stop posting, the validation stops. And without that validation, who are they?
Real stillness is boring. Itโs quiet. It doesnโt get likes. It doesnโt go viral. It just is. But these influencers? Theyโre terrified of the quiet. They fill every second with noise, with content, with the need to prove theyโre enlightened. Theyโve traded the practice for the persona.
Itโs not just hypocrisy; itโs a trap. Theyโre selling a product that requires you to leave the store. Theyโre telling you to find peace while keeping you hooked on the very thing that steals it.
So hereโs the truth: if youโre posting about your meditation, you probably arenโt meditating. Youโre just performing. And the only way to break the cycle is to do the one thing theyโre afraid of: log off, shut up, and sit in the dark.
Stillness isnโt a trend. Itโs a rebellion.
