Shortly after losing his wife, Bob Ross returned to painting, using his art as a way to cope with grief. His journey aligns beautifully with Jungian psychology—each brushstroke balancing light and dark, transforming sorrow into peaceful landscapes, showing how creativity can bring healing.

"We know that the lapis is not just a "stone" since it is expressly stated to be composed of 'de re animali, vegetabili, et minerali, and to consist of body, soul and spirit; moreover, it grows from flesh and blood." - Carl Jung View quoted note →

Alchemical gold is achieved in one’s own life when we understand that the so-called "Philosopher’s Stone" is not a literal object but rather something we can cultivate within ourselves. It is a process of transformation, an artistic and creative endeavor through which we refine and elevate our being. The true alchemist was not merely turning lead into gold in a physical sense, but rather demonstrating a deeper principle—that base elements, like base aspects of the self, can be transmuted into something pure and valuable. As humans, we tend to derive value from scarcity and material uniqueness. Yet many remain oblivious to a greater truth, that on a universal scale, life, consciousness, and the intricate beauty of nature are far rarer than gold itself. In alchemical traditions, gold symbolised the highest stage of spiritual development—the "Great Work" (Magnum Opus), the culmination of inner transformation. Just as raw gold must be refined to remove impurities, the human soul must undergo trials, purification, and enlightenment to reach its highest form. Thus, when alchemists spoke of transmuting lead into gold, they were not merely obsessed with wealth. They were illustrating a profound truth: that through effort, wisdom, and self-discovery, the "base" aspects of human nature—ignorance, fear, and suffering—could be transformed into something pure, radiant, and eternal. Gold became the symbol of this ultimate achievement, not because of its material value, but because of what it represented—perfection, enlightenment, and the divine essence within all things. In this way, alchemy is not just an ancient pursuit but an ongoing process that extends beyond metal and mysticism. Just as lead could be turned into gold, anything—matter, energy, even thought—can be refined into something greater. #Bitcoin mirrors this very principle, transmuting raw computational energy into a scarce, unique and incorruptible asset. Whether through spiritual refinement, artistic creation, or technological innovation, the essence of alchemy remains the same: to elevate the ordinary into something rare, to take what is base and make it golden.

Wisdom and knowledge are the true measures of wealth because the definition of wealth can never be intrinsically universal in the grounded experience of all beings. It’s all subjective to one’s mental parameters—you could be standing right next to Jeff Bezos and still be richer than him.

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about improving my life and becoming more aware of my unconscious bad habits—and their significance within the collective unconscious as a whole. A lot of the time, we drift through life unaware of the situations we’re experiencing and how to improve not only ourselves but also the world around us. There are so many small, automatic actions we take every day—things that barely register in our minds. One of these struck me recently when I spit out a piece of gum onto the street. In that moment, I paused to really think about what I was doing. At first, it seemed so minor, something that didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. But as I stood there I began to notice the countless gum stains embedded in the pavement, each one a mark left behind by someone else who likely thought the same thing. That’s when I realised—this wasn’t just about a single thoughtless act. It was a reflection of how easily we dismiss our own actions, how often we move through life without recognising the impact we leave behind. There are currently 8 billion people on this planet, many of whom move through life unconsciously, caught in what feels like an "insignificant" reality. We convince ourselves that our small actions don’t matter, that they disappear into the vastness of the world. But the truth is every one of these unconscious choices accumulates—whether it’s littering, neglecting kindness, or failing to take responsibility for our impact. Instead of becoming stains—mindless marks left behind without thought—we have the power to be something else. We can choose to be conscious, to act with intention, to leave something meaningful behind rather than just traces of carelessness. Every action, no matter how small, is a reflection of who we are. And when we begin to recognise that, we also begin to change—not just ourselves, but the world around us. image

"Slim chance." I like how everyone seems to be downplaying these odds, despite them being updated to a 1 in 43 chance. People will happily continue buying lottery tickets with 1 in 6,991,908 odds and think nothing of wasting their hard-earned savings on betting websites—but a civilisation-crushing asteroid? Pffft… nothing. Just another reminder for humanity to get its priorities straight. image

GM. Improve by 1% daily, and in a year, you’ll be 37x better. Get 1% worse, and you’ll shrink to just 3% of your potential. Small choices compound—growth or decline, the choice is yours. Stay consistent. #coffeechain image
