Part 3 is the wrap of my time at Bitcoin Beach and closing a chapter for me in El Salvador and Central American. It's been 3 months of traveling starting with #Nostrica in Costa Rica and visiting each country as I made way from coast to coast. I've got to get to Canada where I'm facing federal charges for refusing to use ArriveCan or disclose my personal medical details last year around this time. I'll be self representing in court, defending $12,000 in fines. ArriveCan required that I agree to terms and conditions which could provide my personal data to "third parties" while undisclosed which third parties, they might be i.e. WHO, WEF, GAVI, etc. I would not agree, so I exercised my unalienable rights. We'll see how it goes. I have learned so much from the bitcoiners and nostriches I've met along the path. Some things I sought out, others were gems of knowledge where simply being in the right place at the right time, were delivered serendipitously. I'm grateful to all who have made this an adventure of a lifetime but for me this is not an end it's a beginning... ~ to be continued

A little late but finally got the vlog report dropped for El Zonte - part 2. The June 2nd Bitcoin Beach meetup, where Volcano Energy pre-announced their announcement 😁 I was invited to the final exam for Mi Primer Bitcoin and Grad Ceremony. Dropped in for pupusas at the place the started it all, the very first location to accept bitcoin and begin the movement that would become Bitcoin Beach and ultimately Bitcoin Country. Learning a lot, still hanging out in Zonte. I'll have another report in a day or two. Meanwhile here's the link if you care to check it out.

If you're going to be staying at Bitcoin Beach for any length of time, this is the way to go. After June 1st, USA (factory farmed) beef is potentially tainted. Avoid that risk and go with a trusted supplier. Know your rancher. This is a great carnivor solution for El Zonte and the beach area, I'm sure they are expanding to other areas as well. Just bought this pack of grass fed, grass finished beef. Can't wait to get it on the grill. They have just added smoked bacon and ham, from the same source/rancher. image

Hey Nostriches PV, GM, DR (dobrΓ© rΓ‘no) Since #Nostrica2023 I've been inspired to dig through the exciting developments occurring primarily in "social" while looking to find a project built on the protocol but for an alternative use case. Yesterday, I may have found what I've been searching for. πŸ”₯ While currently very early and running on lightning test net, I've seen a fully functional P2P ride sharing application using Nostr relays and HTLC. Riders and drivers bid for the fee and the HTLC ensures there's no risk of double spend or rugging. As cool as the above tech was for me to see, the 🀯 part for me, was when it was explained that this open source project is built to seamlessly integrate within existing clients that choose to recognize the "kind". So a mobile client like Damus or Amethyst could allow (filter) the data kind to populate the user's notes, open a map to drop navigation pins etc and transact all within the user's preferred client, thus leveraging/enhancing these popular tools and their respective network effects. Eg: The rider sends out a request for a car at 40,000 sats, driver can accept and reply with an HTLC based invoice, or respond with a counter offer invoice of the same (market dynamics). Star rating, feedback etc. needs to be added, but the framework is there and operational. My goal would be to get this working in Cuba where taxis, collectivos, private cars are essential for travel by Cubanos. Drivers can link their npub and details independently. Why Cuba? They are hurting badly since lockdowns, there is a humanitarian need and cars are critical transportaional infrastructure there. Independent banking, circular economy etc etc all add to the appeal. Cuba is using $USD so you can fill in the blanks from there. I'm in contact with the Dev of this MVP, who is building this primarily on the backend. He needs front-end and design help, he needs more testers (the LN test net being the limiting factor as most users are not on test net), some dev funds/sats wouldn't hurt and guidance from the knowledge base in abundance here on Nostr would be huge! Full disclosure: I have no investment or claims in this project. I'm merely hoping to mentor and bring some grey-beard experience to keep the pace of the progress achieved thus far. If this interests you or someone you may know, please ping me, we can make the introductions and see where it goes. Building on #Bitcoin and #Nostr - let's re-imagine our world πŸ™ image

Just loaded my Bitcoin Card to use at NFC ready terminals. A made in El Salvador solution by @TiankiiApp Instructions on the card make it so easy, anyone can use this. Lightning rails, with simply UI, will help this scale to Salvadorans and soon other countries. πŸ‘ image

The Bank of Canada has sent out a survey, seeking input from Canadians with regards to a "digital dollar". They avoiding the word CBDC but that's what it is. I took the survey and screen grabbed a few more notable questions. I figured what the hey, why not turn that into a video rebuttal. It's very short and if you aren't a fast reader (I'm certainly not) you can pause the vid to get the gist. Hope it plays and I don't get a copyright strike for the music track. I gave copyright creds but who knows...
