What I try to do: "The highest paid most skilled engineers are generally language ambiguous, meaning they can quickly learn to code in any language, are not strictly tied to conventions, meaning they will do what works, are able to code in simple ways, and are extremely pragmatic to reach goals "It's the low end of engineers who overengineer, overcomplicate, are cultist about their tech stack, etc."
