Just a reminder that we all live in Samsara. Life is tough and we don't know when our time is up so make the most of life and live in the moment. image
💯 Yeah, everything is back to front. I have at least 5 a day. 🍳🥚🍳🥚🍳 How people take health advice from someone who looks like Jabba the Hutts ugly sister is beyond me. #keto #calisthenics View quoted note →
There's a striking difference between X & Nostr. X had an addictive element, probably due to the algorithm. Tweets seem to go into the ether unless you have a sizeable following or get retweeted by someone who has. Nostr feels quieter for sure and its taken me a while to get my head into it but mostly to push past that lack of algorithmic stimulus. Much like Bitcoin there's a certain proof of work element and you get out what you put in. The discussions and insights I've gained here are second to none. They are authentic and stimulating in a good way - ethnically & spirituality. There's less hate and more hope. Refreshing. View quoted note →
I came across this quote by Plato for the first time today. Probably explains why I have so few friends lol. The truth is the truth is the truth. IYKYK. image
About 20 years ago I spent a month at a Buddhist monastery in Nepal studying Buddhist philosophy and practicing meditation. There were hundreds of monks there, from boys as young as about 5 up to men who were very elderly. Anyway, there was this one young monk, perhaps aged 7 or so who caught my attention. He was still a kid like the others, he played the same games but etc but he stood out. I couldn't put my finger on it, he was extremely charismatic, like an old soul in a young body. I learned later he was a reincarnation of a prominent lama who had been identified as such at a very early age. Now you could argue he was different because the other monks probably treated him differently but this kid had more of a personality than most adults I've ever met. This experience, along with others, has made me much more open to the possibility of reincarnation. View quoted note →
