Elon thinks he's protecting twitter from competitors, but he's only harming it. Censorship and excessive control always has and always will result in users exiting the system.

Elon's "save free speech" charade to turned into outright censorship of independent journalists in less than 6 months. I'm not surprised and you shouldn't be either. No billionaire or all-powerful figure is coming to save us from tyranny. We are the only ones who will save us. It's up to us.
