How does this sound? Happy Treason Day, or Independance Day! Some exploratory sketches on how men would look in my comic. Thoughts below. I guess today is about breaking free and gaining independance as a nation right? I feel like that's what I am trying to do for myself and my family. I am unlearning how to be a producer for clients in this big content/propaganda machine. It is so hard to even think about doing things for myself. That's why I started my #dailydrawing #dailypainting challenge. I hadn't touched a sketchbook in years because I was so creatively burnt out! After a year of just drawing, sketching, and painting from life I notice my sketchbook is evolving too. Now it is starting to focus on my own ideas! This comic is starting to be one of my focuses. Finally finished drying and got to hang it up! This used to be a different painting, but I got fed up with it and painted over it. I honestly prefer abstract paintings over more figurative. Idk why I just get tired of seeing the same landscape or still life or face over and over again. I feel like every time I look at an abstract painting I see something new. I actually wasn't going to post today. I ended up deep cleaning and sorting through my room, and discovered a bunch of pens and markers. I was testing them out to see if any still worked. Good news! They do. I only had to throw out like 5, 7 are on their last legs. As I was scribbling the YouTube video sketchbook flip through I was watching stopped on this one page and I was inspired to recreate it with my latest character. I didn't even intentionally pick the same green it was just the one I was testing out 😂 My scribbles: The original: The video if you want to watch it: I love her clean and cute style. My style is way too messy to keep that up. But I do want to make my own stickers so I think I need to practice more. I feel like all the stickers out on the market are super cute and happy, I want grumpy stickers for those grumpy days. Idk am I the only one?? 😂 I did not expect to write so much 😅 anyway, I think the point I'm trying to convey is that you never know when creativity hits!
