⚡️🇩🇪 NEW - ”Just got a letter from the German government with a 31,000 Euro fine for refusing to censor Gab on their behalf. (Not paying it.)”
Andrew Torba, CEO of Gab, an alternative social media platform, announced on February 6, 2026, that he had received a fine of €31,650 from the German government.
According to the letter from the Bundesamt für Justiz, dated February 1, this penalty follows failure to comply with a 2021 decision related to the NetzDG law on content moderation.
Torba says he refuses to pay, claiming that this is a request for censorship.
