⚡️💻 TECH - Vivaldi CEO Jon von Tetzchner says the company has no plans to add AI chatbots or AI-powered browsing features to its browser.
While rivals like Chrome and Edge push AI tools, he says Vivaldi users have made their feelings clear: “Hell no!”
According to von Tetzchner, features like AI summaries and chat assistants could make people rely too much on AI instead of exploring information themselves.
He warned that turning the web into “passive consumption” could hurt the diversity and openness of the internet.
Vivaldi says it will only consider AI if it enhances user autonomy without privacy risks or diminishing the open web. Until then, the company plans to focus on privacy, customization, and giving users full control over their browsing experience.
