When I am among the trees, especially the willows and the honey locust, equally the beech, the oaks and the pines, they give off such hints of gladness, I would almost say that they save me, and daily. I am so distant from the hope of myself, in which I have goodness, and discernment, and never hurry through the world but walk slowly, and bow often. Around me the trees stir in their leaves and call out, "Stay awhile." The light flows from their branches. And they call again, "It's simple," they say, "and you too have come into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled with light, and to shine." “When I Am Among the Trees” #poetry #art ~Mary Oliver Artwork~ Nino Chakvetadze. image

“I am making a home inside myself. A shelter of kindness where everything is forgiven, everything allowed—a quiet patch of sunlight to stretch out without hurry, where all that has been banished and buried is welcomed, spoken, listened to—released. A fiercely friendly place I can claim as my very own. I am throwing arms open to the whole of myself—especially the fearful, fault-finding, falling apart, unfinished parts, knowing every seed and weed, every drop of rain, has made the soil richer. I will light a candle, pour a hot cup of tea, gather around the warmth of my own blazing fire. I will howl if I want to, knowing this flame can burn through any perceived problem, any prescribed perfectionism, any lying limitation, every heavy thing. I am making a home inside myself where grace blooms in grand and glorious abundance, a shelter of kindness that grows all the truest things.” -Julia Fehrenbacher - Photo: Karla-M Bardz image

Credit: DIY Garden Growing Hacks (Facebook) "The Walipini, whose name means "place of heat" in Aymara, is an innovative underground greenhouse designed to sustainably grow food throughout the year, taking advantage of soil thermal stability and solar energy. Its construction, dug into the ground and with a transparent roof, allows it to capture and preserve heat even in cold climates, significantly reducing energy costs compared to conventional greenhouses. Thanks to its efficient design, crops thrive in controlled conditions, offering resistance to extreme weather phenomena and ensuring continuous production of fruits, vegetables and flowers. This system represents an ideal solution for those seeking food self-sufficiency and sustainable alternatives in challenging climate regions. Credits Conocimientum" #gardening image

credit: Do you love garden & DIY home? (Facebook) How To Speed Up Composting: 10 Tips For Faster Results Composting is a great way to recycle organic waste into nutrient-rich soil, but sometimes it can take longer than expected. If you're looking to speed up the process, here are 10 tips to help you achieve faster composting results. 10 Tips to Speed Up Composting: 1. Chop or Shred Materials: Cut or shred larger pieces of organic matter to increase surface area. 2. Balance Greens and Browns: Maintain the right ratio of green (nitrogen-rich) and brown (carbon-rich) materials for efficient decomposition. 3. Turn Your Pile Regularly: Aerate your compost by turning it every few weeks to encourage oxygen flow. 4. Keep it Moist: Maintain moisture in your compost pile, but avoid over-wetting. 5. Add a Compost Accelerator: Use natural compost accelerators like worm castings or commercial products. 6. Choose a Warm Location: Compost works best in warmer temperatures, so place your pile in a sunny spot. 7. Use a Compost Bin: A well-contained compost bin can retain heat and moisture, speeding up the process. 8. Include Small Materials: Include small, finely chopped materials like leaves, grass clippings, or paper for quicker breakdown. 9. Add Manure: Adding manure from herbivores (cow, horse, etc.) can speed up the process due to its nitrogen content. 10. Monitor Temperature: Keep track of your compost’s temperature to ensure it’s staying warm enough for rapid decomposition. Motivation: Ready to transform your waste into rich, fertile soil? Start composting faster today and boost your garden's growth! 🌿💪#gardening image

Tomatoes Hate Cucumbers: Secrets Of Companion Planting and Popular Planting Combinations 🍅🥒👇 1. Differing Water Needs: Cucumbers need consistent moisture to remain juicy and sweet, while tomatoes thrive in drier soil conditions once they’re established. Overwatering tomatoes to meet cucumber needs can cause root diseases due to waterlogged soil. 2. Space and Light Competition: Cucumbers are vigorous climbers or sprawlers that can overshadow tomatoes, limiting their essential sunlight exposure vital for healthy fruit development. 3. Risk of Disease Transmission: Both tomatoes and cucumbers are vulnerable to diseases like powdery mildew and bacterial wilt. Growing them close can accelerate the spread of these diseases. Ideal Companions for Tomatoes and Cucumbers 1. For Tomatoes: Basil: Enhances tomato flavor while repelling flies and mosquitoes. Marigolds: Keep away nematodes and other garden pests. Carrots: Help loosen the soil, facilitating better air and water flow around the tomato roots. 2. For Cucumbers: Radishes: Act as a deterrent against cucumber beetles. Sunflowers: Provide a natural trellis for cucumber vines and attract pollinators. Lettuce: Benefits from the shade provided by cucumber plants, which helps keep the root environment cool. "Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. He is rich who owns the day, and no one owns the day who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety. Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt crept in. Forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. This new day is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on the yesterdays." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson - Collected Poems and Translations, 1847 Art: Janie Olsen image

"From birth, your tongue is actually connected to your toes through an intricate network of connective tissue known as fascia. If your tongue is not resting correctly in your mouth due to mouth breathing, things can get out of alignment in your mouth and the rest of your body. Tongue posture can lead to a foot imbalance and vice versa because the tongue guides all myofascial continuity structures that run from the inner arch of the foot up through the middle of the body to the tongue and jaw muscles. When the tongue sits on top of the palate, it seals the oral cavity and holds the throat open like a tent. These muscles support the neck, keep your posture straight, help you breathe, and maintain your posture upright. Your tongue also acts as a rudder and support system through a fascial line, and when the tongue is down, we breathe through our mouth, and the head falls forward due to lack of support, which leads to poor posture and increased energy expenditure."
