Credit: Gateway Garlic Farms (Facebook) "Many of you will either be shopping for plants this weekend or planting them. What is the biggest mistakes novices make in choosing their vegetable plants for the garden is picking plants BECAUSE they have flowers . These are signs of drought or root bound issues both of which can be rectified but never allow your baby veggie plants to flower and fruit . Pick them off as soon as you see them You don’t want your plants to waste their energy producing fruit while they are still young. The first handful of weeks should be spent building a healthy plant stem and root ball not expending energy producing flowers and fruit. Many of them are already in shock because they might be root bound and the shock of transplanting just adds to this. Let them spend a fair amount of time in the ground first, recovering and growing strong. This will help them fight diseases and also produce bumper tasty crops." #TomatoPlant #TomatoPlanting #Transplants #TomatoFlowers image
