Midsummer 🪷 Vibes
Kanô (often repeated as "Kanô, Kanô" or "Kanore, Kanore") is a famous, traditional Yawanawá sacred chant and gathering song.
It acts as an invocation or a calling inside the tribe's prayer house, signaling that it is time for the community to gather, unite, and begin their prayers.
It is also a song used to bring the tribe together. Whenever there is something important to share, or simply to express togetherness and unity, the tribe sings this chant as one united family in prayer.

ANNO MMXXVI DIE I MENSIS IV — DIE XXX MENSIS IV
If April was your friend,
she’d invite you out on a Saturday night,
pull you out of your funk.
Take you to hear live music,
a new folk band who plays songs that sound like they were written for you.
You’d call her on a rainy day and her voice on the phone would make the air feel full of possibility. She’d romanticize everything, but in a way that you kind of saw it too.
When she was around, you’d wonder if maybe you could plan the trip,
quit the job, take the leap, guilt free.
It’s your life, she’d say, earnestly, over sundaes at midnight.
Why not make it a great one?
If the month of April was your friend - hannahrowrites

ANNO MMXXVI DIE I MENSIS II — DIE XXVIII MENSIS II
It is said that before entering the sea
a river trembles with fear.
She looks back at the path she has traveled,
from the peaks of the mountains,
the long winding road crossing forests and villages.
And in front of her,
she sees an ocean so vast,
that to enter
there seems nothing more than to disappear forever.
But there is no other way.
The river can not go back.
Nobody can go back.
To go back is impossible in existence.
The river needs to take the risk
of entering the ocean
because only then will fear disappear,
because that’s where the river will know
it’s not about disappearing into the ocean,
but of becoming the ocean.
Fear - Khalil Gibran

ANNO MMXXVI ❄️ I DIE I — DIE XXXI
Coat this ugly world in tumbled ice cream
so I can glut my eyes on something pretty,
tromp endless, forgetting the existence of toes.
Give it loud sunlight, if it has to leave,
sent off in a parade of blue heat
to merry grace every storm sewer with
trilled tongues bright as new pennies,
waterfall of coins rushing underground.
I swear if I can just have this one day
of perfect scenery, I’ll stop complaining
for at least two, stop reminding you of
stacking bodies, evil lofted on a flag pole,
charging down what’s good to leave it
trampled, fleeting as snow flees
when the sun pretends to bring us light.
Prayer for Snow - Ann Devilbiss
