Routstr is a decentralized market of AI providers not a single company selling inference. Independent node runners set their own prices based on their costs. Routstr doesn't set any prices, the market does. Users pay providers per query using #bitcoin #cashu.
Nodes announce themselves on nostr to be discovered and users log in using nostr offering them to save their chats encrypted to nostr relays.
Nodes compete on uptime, models, reputation and price.
Routstr devs create the code, chat interface and cli tools. They aren't a company. No one custodies the balances except the cashu mints users choose and can exit at anytime.
Users can select providers, compare prices, search models, create openai compatible api keys, configure routstr as their ai provider in Claude Code, Opencode, Openclaw and more.
By using RoutstrD, a cli daemon, users never have to leave the terminal. From the terminal users can top up balance, configure with agents and automatically get the cheapest available provider. With the TUI it monitors every spend from any agent and gives total insight to use.
