GM Nostr. Its fiat denominated price is the least interesting thing about Bitcoin. I removed all the apps, accounts and notifications that alert me to the price about a month ago. I’ve seen a handful of thumbnails bearing the price since then, but honestly don’t know what the price is today. I’m never going back to paying attention to the price again. This side of the fence is too good.

Is the lightning wallet in Primal all I’d need to participate in the economy if we woke up tomorrow to a Bitcoin standard? Is there another Lightning wallet I should have? #asknostr

The first two movements from my upper back focused pull day. I’ve implemented a new training split. Push Pull Rest Legs Rest I have two different rotations for each day. On the second pull day, I emphasize more lat recruitment, tacking on the upper back movements towards the end of the session. Delineating your back training between upper back (traps, teres, rhomboids, rear delts) and lat focused movements will make a big difference in overall back development. You can’t isolate one or the other, but you can absolutely emphasize where the tension is placed. Movements where the humerus is between a 75 and 90 degree angle to your spine (elbows high) will force tension into the upper back. Movements where the humerus is closer to being parallel with your spine (elbows tucked) will drive more tension into the lats. With the upper back, moving your scapula through their full range of being maximally stretched and retracted is crucial in recruiting the most amount of muscle fibers. In these two movements, it’s clear I’m exposing myself to the fully lengthened range as much as possible and transitioning out of that range with controlled aggression, placing the intention on the target muscle groups. You must be intentional, but you also must be violent. For me, bodybuilding is the intersection of thoughtfulness and raw action.

I think spending as much time as possible in the places your presence has the biggest impact and as little time as possible in the places it has the least impact makes a lot of sense.

The tribalism of MoE vs SoV advocates is one of the silliest aspects of Bitcoin. They are two slabs of iron which sharpen each other as they both grow in adoption. One makes the other better and vice versa. They are two dogs dragging the same sled. Sometimes one is faster, sometimes the other. Either way, the sled moves forward.

Funny when people point out that the BTC in the SBR is stolen. Maybe they are unfamiliar with statism. NOTHING the government is in possession of rightly belongs to them. Every piece of property they hold was stolen or bought with stolen money. From the assets on their balance sheet to the land their buildings stand on, it is all pelf. The only thing the government truly owns is a monopoly on violence in which they wield to acquire that which they possess. Any reserve held by the government must be the result of acquisition via violence or the threat of violence. It is the very nature of the state to operate in such a way. The state is unlikely aware that Bitcoin adoption is the first true threat to neutralizing its monopoly on violence in a way that one day may prevents its ability to steal from its citizens. My hope is that decisions like the SBR make it impossible to stop that scenario by the time they realize it. The Libertarian point of view that wants to prevent any increase in state power fails to consider the nature of Bitcoin’s democratization of power. Sometimes by making your enemy strong in the short term, you make him weak in the long term.

On a Digital Asset Framework. I think the top priority is to protect investors. This is the first of likely many steps towards regulating away the harm that comes with shitcoinery. I’m all for liberty, but the majority of shitcoin losses are delivered to people who genuinely believe they have a fair chance at 10-1000x gains, not realizing the game is rigged from the start. Scammers justify their actions with the belief system that “people should know better; and a sucker deserves to lose their money.” Financial oversight should aim to have a more just and fair stance than that of the people doing the scamming, in the least. As for the value proposition of digital securities…idk man. Any attempt at it would either be inflationary or be an imperfect attempt at mirroring the properties of Bitcoin. To the latter, I would ask “why not just use Bitcoin?” Digital tokens that reflect ownership of physical property like real estate or gold - marginally better than owning paper versions of these things, but again - why would you want to own a digital placeholder to a physical thing that, in BTC terms, is trending to zero? Saylor says Bitcoin as a currency is a distraction, but any digital asset except Bitcoin feels like the real distraction. My steel man for Saylor in regard to the digital asset framework is that he knows where all this leads and he’s simply playing a political game that’s well beyond my pay grade, to use his verbiage. I can see how something like this would earn political trust and favor that would then allow him to influence more pro-Bitcoin policy in the future. Plenty of straw man arguments out there already to choose from. I’m just not going to pretend like my intellect is in the same league as Saylor’s.

Building Muscle on (Mostly) Carnivore I’ve been eating a typical bodybuilding diet for close to 20 years. It’s evolved much since the early days when I’d hit my daily protein target any way I could and then eat everything else imaginable on top of it. The last few years, things have been very structured with mostly the same standard bodybuilding foods including rice, fruits, vegetables, nuts, nut butters, nut oils, oats, grits, potatoes. In 2024, I was out of the gym for a decent chunk of time and tried 30 days of strict, nose to tail carnivore during my time off. It was something I’d been interested in but felt I could never implement due to the macronutrient requirements set forth by my physique goals (maximize muscular size and conditioning). I experienced less hunger, greater mental clarity and more energy, as I expected to. But the biggest benefit, which I didn’t expect, was the improvement in my digestion. I had long held the belief that fibrous veggies and dietary fiber found in starchy carb sources were paramount in healthy digestion. The feedback I got from my body turned this belief on its head. Eventually, I got back in the gym and resumed my standard bodybuilding nutrition, gradually adding back all the foods I’d normally consumed. What I’ve noticed since then is a real struggle to nail down my digestion. I can’t seem to restore my digestion to anywhere near the level it was while on carnivore. I’ve swapped out carb sources multiple times and have gone through all the foods that have typically always digested well for me, but optimal regularity feels like it’s eluding me. Prior to using carnivore, I would have described my digestion as good to great. But now I’m questioning if it was ever really even good. I’ve been digging into the “why veggies are bad” rabbit hole the last few days and I’m going to remove the fibrous foods that I’ve always thought were necessary for good digestion. I’m going to pull out the nuts and nut butters as well. The plan is to try to match the macros I use for my bodybuilding goals while getting my protein and fats from animal meat, eggs and butter. I’ll use white rice, fruit and cyclic dextrin as my only carb sources and time them around my workouts so they’re utilized as well as possible. I may look to incorporate honey as well, but is not a food I typically eat. As my weight climbs and calories need to increase, I’ll have to expand the carb allotment, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. The goal is to maintain as many of the benefits of carnivore while still maximizing muscle gain. I’ll update as feedback develops.

GM Nostr. 5:55am. Waiting for the gate to open. Pretty intense red dawn this morning. Won’t be much longer until the sun is already up when my shift starts. Days getting longer down here. Nature’s base layer protocol functioning perfectly well.
