This week is great. I’m in a Fed retirement seminar & casually dropping Bitcoin into the chat every now & then. And, price has cooperated greatly with my trolling.

A coworker I had spoke to about Bitcoin was very against it & couldn’t be swayed at all. On his own, he somehow got a copy of Broken Money by @Lyn Alden & then tracked me down & started asking me questions. He’s apparently convinced now & ready to allocate 2% into one of the ETFs. Not fully self-sovereign by a long shot, but still amazing progress thanks to Lyn (who is obviously much more persuasive than I am.)

Feeling the itch to get greedy with leverage. Need a tiny @ODELL angel on my shoulder to remind me to stay humble & stack sats.

Is there consensus for minimal viable UTXO for consideration when consolidating? I saw someone mentioning unspendable $1000 UTXOs yesterday. I have to assume that’s $1000 in future value & not current value?

Can someone explain to me why people store their BIP39 words on steel vs just the index # of the word? It seems like Jay would be more space efficient (4x10 per word vs 4x26.)

I’ve realized nostr isn’t all that different than other social media for me in that all I’m mostly just a lurker/consumer & not much of a a poster on any platform.

I don’t understand why BIP-39 seed phrase backup plates have a-z for recording the first 4 letters of each word. Seems like you could save space with 0-9 & just record the index number of the word from the word list.
