Been trying to make a ecash based gift certificate thing for my store. Turns out that was just overkill since it would run with a private mint so wouldn't need a lot of the benefits ecash provides, for all the complexity involved. 🤷 Could make sense for larger merchants (Target, Amazon) or when they use a large gift card provider or reseller. Because Ecash is just gift certificates, I thought it would be interesting to use them as such. Making something else to use instead. Just some cryptographically signed gift codes for the store, denominated in sats. No database to maintain other than nonces from redeemed gift codes. That should work fine.

First it supported just lightning addresses. And now it also supports Nostr npubs as affiliate links. Though this does require access to an API that can bridge the gap between your store and Nostr relays. So we built that too! (https://github.com/pardus79/Nostr-Profile-API)

IT WORKS!!!!!! You can now just add your npub to a link to my store and if someone follows your link and orders, it will send your 10% commission to your zap address when the order ships!

I couldn't find an API that just returned Nostr profiles from an npub. I need it for a wordpress plugin to grab lightning addresses from npubs for affiliate payments. So Claude.ai coded one up for me! Send an npub, get a lightning address back! If you need it, you can host it yourself:
