Went to a restaurant I found on @BTC Map that accepts Bitcoin and had dinner there with friends. Paid the bill for my Udon Noodle dish from my self-custodial Lightning wallet to their self-custodial Lightning wallet. The payment took 0.5 seconds to finalize. Bitcoin is alive.

Fiatjaf agrees - (joke's on me: I supported Drivechain before but apparently he didn't know (end sarcasm)). SEO (Search Engine Optimization) destroyed the search experience for ordinary users over the years. This is the reason why you can't find good information on how to buy a good mattress or research the health implications of a certain food category: web search is completely broken because of SEO. I imagine, the next iteration of this dark practice will become LMO - Language Model Optimization where companies trying to sell you vacations, affiliated doctor's appointments, or "investment advice" will start meddling with either the training data that goes into these language models or with the online sources LLMs access in order to give you more relevant responses. I hate it already.

Remember reading dystopian science fiction novels with mega corporations that have state-like power and military force, waging wars against other mega corporarions over who has the most control and influence? Mega corporarions controlling communication, transportation, finance, neural interfaces with the ultimate goal of controlling all of cyberspace and all of meatspace? That's what I think of when I see "X".
