#asknostr What do you use for "personal knowledge management" ie to track notes, diary, car maintenance, and other things you need to remember that are not calendar events? Does it work well? If you've tried other systems, why do you like this one better than others?

Idea for #nostr, make a NIP to integrate nostr with a lightweight #freenet client and use freenet for media upload/download. Post text to nostr, upload media to freenet. The end result would be a decentralized, censorship-resistant, CDN for all the content you upload to nostr without adding additional burden to existing relays. Thoughts? #asknostr

#asknostr is there any middle-ground between "follow" and "un-follow"? There are some people I want to see content from sometimes, but they publish so much stuff that it overwhelms my feeds. Like, just show me their top hits please.

#asknostr is proof-of-work widely used when people make notes? If so, what is a suggested amount to use?

Can somebody please direct me how to connect my nostr account to zeus (currently on nostrudel but could be convinced to switch). My google-fu is failing. Thank you! #asknostr

People interested in #nostr and freedomtech really ought to take a look at #freenet and #hyphanet. These platforms are even more censorship resistant than nostr is. While nostr gives you agency over which custodians to trust (and the ability to trust multiple custodians (relays)), relays are still concentrated forms of power that can be coerced and shut down. That requires coercing 10% of the network instead of social media where is like three companies, but freenet requires coercing >51% of the network to censor something. Does that number sound familiar to anybody?

#asknostr is this still the case? From the nostr faq "At the moment, self-custodial lightning wallets don’t offer a “static” lightning address or LNURL, the email-address-style receiving address. (Hopefully this will change soon). What this means is that you can use self-custodial wallets to send zaps, but not receive them (yet)."

#asknostr are there any good self-custody wallets you can use to receive zaps? I've figured out how to send zaps, but not receive.

Worried about the erosion of rights and liberties in the US? Do something about it! I'm zapping 1500 sats to the first 100 people who post this flyer somewhere. Your neighborhood coffeeshop, school bulletin board, wherever! If it's legal, it qualifies. Reply with a pic to claim your sats. Defeat #project2025 image

YK what would be a killer #nostr app? A marketplace. FB marketplace ate craigslist for lunch. Meta is basically universally reviled, yet people have to use marketplace because it's where everybody is. Make a killer marketplace app and people will flock to it. Oh, this app has lightning zaps integrated into it for payment? Wow that's super convenient. Let me try this #bitcoin stuff.

We shouldn't have to work 40 hours a week to afford a basic life. We do because our currency is constantly losing value. This is by design. #bitcoinfixesthis https://lemmy.ml/post/16569113

Can somebody confirm whether or not Cash App can send Bitcoin via lightning to a strike username? Or does it only support standard LN invoices? #asknostr #bitcoin #lightningnetwork #strike #cashapp
