In downtown of a top 20 sized city in Canada. I’ve lived in the area for almost 20 years. Just sad to see how far it has fallen. Homelessness, mental illness and drug addiction has overtaken what used to be a vibrant downtown. I hate coming down here and no longer feel safe.

I’m inspired by @npub1vm7e...sm7s who posts great content to remind us all to focus on what really matters in life. Every year I make a rink in my backyard. My kids play hockey, which rules our lives in the winter. Playing a competitive sport teaches so many skills: resilience, communication, determination. All great skills for later in life. We have a new addition to our house. A dog who is experiencing her first winter. It is great watching the kids play with her on the rink. She’ll bite my boots while I shovel it, chase pucks around and reluctantly toboggan down the snow hill built at the back. We’re stacking memories!
