Perhaps digital IDs and digital money were inevitable in a digitized world but inevitability isn’t the issue; the real question is, who controls them? Who holds the keys? Choosing comfort over truth is not innocence; it is complicity. Choosing the soothing "certainty" of the corporate media propagandists over the messy work of investigation is choosing to be numbed. Censorship isn't just silencing of speech but the silencing of independent thought as well. Why do so many choose comfort? Well comfort is cheap; intellectual courage is costly. Enormous industries, from banking to education to broadcasting, have built empires on that cheapness. They monetize distraction & obedience. They brand dissent as extremism & reward compliance with social standing. The apparatus does not merely exist to govern; it exists to perpetuate its own power. Fiat money feeds the machine; schooling supplies the cogs; mass-media-approved public health supplies the moral cover. In the information age, the most radical act is simple: think. Where many outsource their thinking to the algorithm, think for yourself. Think publicly. Act prudently. Choose responsibility. If you insist on trusting untrustworthy fiat institutions uncritically, accept the moral weight of that choice.
