Would you sleep on the floor…? Well, I would. Inspired by the video @₿en Wehrman reposted (which I cannot find right now), I tried sleeping on the floor (only yoga mat and a blanket below me) for 7 days, and here is what I noticed: 1. Sleeping on the floor was much more pleasant than I expected. Quite frankly, I’m sold. Now, I have to convince my wife… To make peace with my her, I’ll probably come to a consensus on a rather hard mattress placed just on the floor. 2. My body didn’t hurt as much as I expected and only on the second night did I find myself struggling to lay comfortably. Other than that, easy peasy. 3. My lower back pain greatly softened. It’s not fixed yet, of course, but I can definitely see the difference when I sleep on the bed and it is most likely due to the many “not so healthy” positions that I am able to enjoy on the bed, which the floor wouldn’t accept. 4. It’s much colder on the floor, so unless you have heated flooring it may be a good idea to add a blanket or two on top of ya! It’s naturally cold in Scotland, especially this time of the year, so I found myself waking up a few times, when my wandering leg or hand exposed me too much. 5. And the BIGGEST THING - it is true, I didn’t need as many hours of sleep to feel refreshed and relaxed as I would while sleeping on the bed. When I would usually go to sleep around 22:00, my alarm gets me up just before 7:00 (9 ish hours I aim for), but when sleeping on the floor, I would consistently wake up just after 6:00 (one time even 5:30!) and feel like it’s been more than enough and it’s about time I get up. Suffice to say, I had much longer days to work with (haha) and my book reading streak improved. So, yeah. Thank you so much @₿en Wehrman for sharing yet another fun fact to work with. Let me know how did your floor-sleeping go! And to all of you, who got this far with the post: Try something new today, even if it sounds outlandish. Nobody has to know you did and I am certain simply by doing something out of the ordinary you can spice up your life a little. Good luck! #SomethingNew #RandomLifeHack #SleepontheFloor image

Don’t let yourself get scammed! Keep your wealth safe! I feel it’s only fair to be vulnerable for a moment (thanks NOSTR for your wonderfully honest space)… Few years ago, I got scammed. At the time, the money I lost was an equivalent to 70% of my net worth. Suffice to say, it was a heart wrenching moment. Not only did I feel completely ashamed and stupid, I also felt a burning desire to rage, revenge and “get those fuckers”… As you can imagine, I didn’t. Regardless, thanks to financial prudence, moral support from my love and consistent effort in earning, saving and investing my money, I’ve recently crossed the milestone of raising my net worth back to the pre-scam state and above it. It feelt great to do so. Nevertheless, the sour aftertaste stayed with me. That’s why yesterday’s episode of #CoinStories by @nat brunell really hit me strong. Memories flooded back and I felt the emotions that revolved around me at the time. While it’s in the past and no longer affects me, it still is a sore topic for me to reflect upon. Please, listen to the episode! You won’t regret it! Not only will it help you empathise with those “stupid people” that get scammed (like myself), but also recognise that those hurting you may be themselves getting hurt even more. The show made me reframe the way I feel about those few people who scammed me back then. I hope they are okay. I pray for them as much as I pray for all of those that fall for such tricks. All in all, stay safe and careful! Check the episode out on Fountain: https://fountain.fm/episode/ZQaHfwSImRcfXt5Zab2U image
