Couldn’t think of a more British reward than sitting by the seafront with a chippy. After a (I think) successful interview that was a technical challenge Spent the weekend panicking and re-remembering how to write helm charts and do gitops around ArgoCD/Terraform/GKE, shouldn’t have after all. Did fine!

Been travelling about 8 hours over the last two days, staying over in London to visit a client’s office. Hate London and just thinking of travelling through it stresses me out, let alone being there. Get home late last night and enjoying getting to bed Then for last hour from 2am there’s been a horrendous thunderstorm that’s woke me up, with hundreds of bright but silent lightning flashes. No matter which way I turn I can’t avoid them, so have given up. Just scrolling through nostr till it stops lol

It’s weird actually, talking recently of #FreeBSD to someone else. It was very much like being in the Bitcoin space, very focused community of competent people who just wanted a well curated UNIX system. No drama, no noise Then around 8 years ago, we had core team members who started injecting identity-based and “progressive” politics, poisoning the well with the new “code of conduct”

This distracted from the core values people had, and caused the community cohesion to fall apart. And I stopped using FreeBSD exclusively after multiple years It shouldn’t happen to #Bitcoin, as it’s a much larger ethos.
