If the relay isn’t paid, it should be run by an existing business. It should be like a Pizza Planet relay that advertises pizza to you every so often in your notifications. That would be an honest and sustainable business model.

It’s a mode that only works for influencers. Two regular friends are not sending each other money like “hell yeah bro!” Attaching a monetary cost to every interaction is bizarre and unnatural. A “like” is essentially a high five or thumbs up. Acknowledgement from peers just like you get in real life. Nostr devs need to figure out if Nostr is for regular people or not.
