Spaces That Listen and Speak ![](https://m.stacker.news/109153) # When a space begins to listen and speak, it shifts from being a passive container to becoming part of the conversation. Architecture has always carried intelligence โ€” from temples aligned with celestial movements to Japanโ€™s Ise Jingu shrine, renewed every twenty years as a living archive of craft. Across time, spaces have encoded knowledge and adapted to their context. The difference today is speed: what once required centuries or rituals can now happen continuously, in real-time. https://stacker.news/items/1233467

Designing user interfaces with bots not buttons ![](https://m.stacker.news/108409) I donโ€™t want to go full conversational UI on this. Itโ€™s not about having human-level conversations or making chatbots. Whatโ€™s good about the character bots in Skittish is how dumb they are. They definitely feel like part of the โ€œmachineryโ€ of the place, but theyโ€™re integrated. Theyโ€™re seamlessly integrated in the Skittish world, just as dialog boxes are โ€œin-worldโ€ w/r/t to the โ€œdesktop metaphorโ€ world of Windows or MacOS. https://stacker.news/items/1225399
