Seeing the update to this chart every 6 months really puts into perspective how out of control hospital services and medical care prices are compared to overall price inflation. Despite amazing technological advances in the medical field that should be bringing down prices over time (see price changes for goods without heavy handed government regulation like TVs and tech software), pricing in healthcare has risen 256% since 2000 at an accelerating rate. Inflation is theft because it guarantees that you lose purchasing power year over year, stealing your time and even contributing to health declines by increasing stress of everyone in the economy. #bitcoin can help buck this trend in healthcare by a sound money for providers to build upon, aligning incentives and enabling direct connections with patients, cutting out the middlemen.
