Bitcoin has funded a generation of sovereign cryptographers.
The advancements that have been made in the academic field of cryptography alone because of the downstream effects of bitcoin have been incredible. Historically, cryptographic advances were more funded by military needs — rather than free markets.
It reminds me of One Piece the Anime, where the King of The Pirates triggered the start of The Great Pirate Era for a new generation of pirates upon disappearing…

There are moments I can always look back at and get a laugh out of. Maybe the goal is to accumulate those so on your death bed you’ll just be chuckling at everything you’ve done. Maybe that’s the One Piece.
