DÜNYA FÂNİ, ÂHİRET BÂKİDİR İmâm-ı Rabbânî (k.s.) Hazretleri şöyle buyurmuşlardır: Hak Sübhânehû, Peygamberimiz (s.a.v.) hürmetine bu denî (alçak) dünyanın hakikatini, süslerinin fenâlığını ve kendisine hakikat süsü verilen kötülüklerini basîret nazarlarımızla görebilmeyi nasip eylesin. Rağbet ve iltifatımızı âhiretin güzelliklerine müteveccih kılsın. Cennet bahçelerinin ve nehirlerinin lezzetleriyle beraber Âlemlerin Rabb'inin cemâliyle müşerref olma nimetine nâil eylesin. Bu dünyanın fenalığı anlaşılmazsa onun tesirinden/ona düşkünlükten kurtulmaya imkân yoktur, böyle olunca da uhrevi kurtuluş da son derece zordur. "Dünya sevgisi, her hatanın başıdır" sözü, sabit bir hakikattir. Zira bir şeyin ilacı, zıddı iledir. Bu dünyaya muhabbetin izâlesinin ilacı, âhirete rağbete ve şerîat-i garrânın hükümlerine uygun bir şekilde sâlih ameller işlemeye bağlıdır. Hak Sübhânehû, dünya hayatının şu dört hâlden ibaret olduğunu şöyle beyan buyurmuştur -meâlen-: "Biliniz ki, Dünya hayatı; bir oyun, bir eglence, bir süs ve aranızda övünme ve mal ve evlatta çokluk yarışından ibarettir..." (Hadîd S., âyet 20) Şâyet insan, sâlih ameller ile meşgul olursa dünyanın en büyük hâlini teşkil eden oyun ve eğlence kısmı mecburen azalmaya başlar. Dünya ziynetini elde etmenin temeli olan ipek giymekten, altın ve gümüş kullanmaktan yüz çevrip uzak durulduğu zaman ikinci kısım olan ziynet/süs yok olmaya başlar. Allâhü Teâlâ indinde fazilet ve değerin, haseb ve neseb ile değil ancak verâ ve takvâ ile olduğuna yakîn hâsıl olduğu zaman da övünmekten katiyen uzak durur. Dünya malının ve evlâdın, Hak Sübhânehû'yu zikirden alıkoyduğu, ona yönelmekten yüz çevirmeye sebep olduğu bilindiği zaman da bunlarda çokluk yarışından vazgeçer. Hattâ bunların ziyade olmasını meşakkat kabul eder. Hâsılı size hiçbir şey zarar vermemesi için "Resûlullah, size her ne (emir) verirse onu tutunuz ve sizi nehyettiğinden de sakınınız... " meâlindeki, Haşr Suresı'nın 1: ayet-ı kerimesinin düsturuyla hareket ediniz. (Mektûbât : Imâm-ı Rabbani, 1/ m. 232)
