When complete newbies ask me what Bitcoin is, the first thing I immediately try to drive home is its value compared to fiat. Stressing its limited supply right away is key. Everyone loves rare stuff, and that usually sparks enough interest for them to start their own research. Next thing you know, you see them in a few months and they’ve gone full nerd mode- diving deep into the Bitcoin trenches, studying merkle trees and building self-custody wallets that look like middle school calculators! It all starts with getting them curious. This is a great ad from Coinbase, could very well be somebody’s original “orange pill” moment:

When you're still using centralized social media in 2025, I guess you still run the risk of having to deal with annoyances like this...🤦‍♂️ Recently, when I logged into the Satoshi’s Sip Instagram, I kept getting messages suggesting that they think I'm a bot. I've never done anything out of the ordinary and have never linked my account to any third-party apps. I pretty much only use the account to market our coffee business and connect with customers through DMs—definitely not the usual behavior of a bot! (And just so you know, we’ve never faced any warnings or community violations until we started mentioning that we joined Nostr... 👀) Anyway, I hope my account doesn’t get banned. I want to keep all my options open for reaching customers, and Instagram has millions of potential users who could be interested in our delicious coffee. That said, I'm really glad I joined Nostr a couple of months ago. It feels great to have a platform that genuinely supports its users, unlike these big centralized corporations!
