I tried out most of the flavors of Ubuntu just to see where the world of desktop environments are at. KDE and XFCE win. I hope LXQT becomes the Qt version of XFCE but it still feels pretty rough around the edges for a plebian. It's a shame everything is GTK based. I dunno, I sometimes miss the exploration of windows managers but I've used i3wm for over 10 years and I just feel gimped using anything else. Zero room for aesthetics. Gaps are gay btw. Total GTK/GNOME Death

I need to stop fucking around with memes and actually do some NPC AI and animation.

Played around with Material Maker yesterday. Getting better at it, it's really nice for seamless stuff, but it's also kinda unpolished and has very poor UI performance. It seems to cause Mesa (or something) on my ghettopad to stutter intermittently without displaying any CPU or iGPU load via intel tools. It makes me want to try Substance Designer, but I hate the idea of using these extremely anti-consumer "industry tools". Usually the cracks are also these fragile authorization server emulator or whatever. I dunno, I haven't even looked what the crack situation is like for Substance Designer.
