Conducted this workshop in Zimbabwe today.
Participants found it „eye-opening and transformative“.
I love how people here get Bitcoin much faster than those in the „developed world“.
Anyone still using Muun wallet?
What are your experiences at times when onchain fees are high? I remember people had troubles with Lightning payments.

Good development. We need cash for privacy and to trade non KYC bitcoin. Hopefully other countries are listening:
Sweden is not the only Nordic country backpedalling on plans for a cashless society. Last year Norway, which has a popular equivalent to Swish called Vipps MobilePay, brought in legislation that means retailers can be fined or sanctioned if they will not accept cash. The government has also recommended that citizens “keep some cash on hand due to the vulnerabilities of digital payment solutions to cyber-attacks”.
Toffees are money!
The ZiG (Zimbabwe Gold) is legal tender in Zimbabwe. It was introduced a year ago, after the Zimbabwe Dollar hyperinflated. The exchange rate to the USD is 1:31 now. Prices in many shops are stated in USD and who is able to holds and uses USD .
There is one catch though: there are no USD coins in circulation. That’s why you’ll get something else as change; like these five toffees each for 5 cents that we (had to) accept today.
Dear @Lyn Alden ,
Recently you asked on Nostr, what you could analyze for us. I’d love to have your input on the surge of stablecoins and how it relates to bitcoin volumes. Would be lovely to hear your thoughts.
Alternative network access is needed!
Starlink is the best and most affordable option to national providers, but what if Elon decides to cut off customers or whole countries?
In case Bitcoin transaction fees go up, it’s nice to have a cost-efficient alternative for sending BTC.
One of those is Liquid (yes you gotta trust the federation)…here is a comparison of SideSwap.io and @Boltz - Non-Custodial Bitcoin Bridge two services that allow you to move your funds to L-BTC and back to BTC.
Here are the differences in the fees you pay for a peg-out or swap and an explainer how it works
