#asknostr Can anyone recommend a text-to-speech software that converts text to a natural-sounding computer voice? Or, do you know if ChatGPT does this? I want to create videos and add a voiceover, but am not a good speaker - lots of pauses, um’s, and uh’s. I want to script the text and upload it to ChatGPT or a website which will then create an mp3 file for me to download. Thank you for your advice and recommendations!!!

Good night, NOSTR Friends! I hope you sleep well. I didn’t do much of anything outside today. I mostly stayed inside near a fan - I do have my own fan club! (Sorry for the bad joke.) some of my summer 2025 goals are: - Learn how to take higher-quality photos & videos with my phone’s onboard cameras. - Learn how to write and script videos to showcase and sell items I want to sell on Marketplace - Learn to do public speaking for short duration on a given topic - Learn to use Corel VideoStudio to craft videos to upload to YouTube, or to promote items for sale on Marketplace. My biggest challenge will be the speaking/voice work. I’m considering seeing if AI can be taught to narrate my videos from a script. Well, good night, Friends! @Luke , I think I remember you posting about problems your pear tree is having. FWIW, my buddy has an apple tree and he is spraying it with a dilute of water & Thyme oil. He said it keeps the bugs off the apples & helps prevent fungus. He applies it every 2-3 weeks. #asknostr Question: Is it safe to buy a second-hand Raspberry Pi 4 (or 5) from eBay? They're not terribly expensive new, but if I can get one for less... I don't want any danger of malicious software/spyware installed and giving others access to my data... Additional info: I'll be replacing any Micro SD cards/storage devices that may come with it and performing clean installs of OS. Thank you for your insights!

Our current temperature is 86, with our expected high reaching 95.the weather Channel says to expect sunny skies. I plan to sit either under a tree on the front porch today to escape the heat. I plan to use chat GPT to learn some things - I don’t know what the “things” are, but I’ll figure it out. Make today a great and productive day!

Good morning, NOSTR Friends! I hope you're well this morning. The weather forecast for today in northern Ohio seems to have been copied from the forecast for Hell. The Weather Channel says it is currently sunny and 87 (heat index is 97 now). They say that isn't hot enough, so our high temp sill be 96 humid degrees. I'll be in the basement today transferring food from our second dead freezer into our new freezer. One positive thing - last night I was able to tell my wife (truthfully) that we needed to eat the ice cream (because it started to melt)! Man did it feel good when she didn't give me "the look" when I said that! 😁 I hope you stay cool and do great things today! #coffeechain (Yes, any temp is good to drink coffee...)

Good night, NOSTR Friends! I hope your day was filled with good things and you sleep well. It was a long day for me. Not many things got done, but I consider the things I did to be good things. Our family celebrated a belated Father’s Day with my dad and my wife’s parents. Then I tilled my inlaws’ soil so they can plant their garden. And we rescued a small (5”) painted turtle that was crossing the road. (I thought it was only chickens that crossed the road…?) we moved her off the road and into the woods. I think it was the first time I’ve touched a turtle. Then, after we got home, I researched several questions related to furnaces in flooded basements, drying flooded basements, and replacing flooded/dead freezers. There’s more, but I won’t bore you. Good morning, NOSTR Friends! Happy Saturday. Today is day two since my basement flooded & killed 2x freezers. The water is pumped out and the pump will be put away today. The drain is functioning now, so I think we’re OK. Now comes carrying out flood-damaged stuff, and rinsing wet canned goods. I’ll call the insurance company soon, to see what/if is covered. Since it is now officially summer😀, the temp is supposed to climb to a high of 91 today with a mix of clouds and sun, and it will be breezy. I have some other things to do, so I’ll close by wishing you a productive and happy weekend. Spend time with your family, and, if you’re so inclined, go the church and listen to the words of your Creator.

The water has drained from our basement, and my family was able to do their normal routine after the locksmith worked his magic! It will probably a great day to go to Cedar Point. Yesterday was a beautiful day. I went to Sandusky to buy a utility pump to move over a foot of water from my basement (recent rain storms) and I locked our only key & fob in our vehicle.🙄🙁 I’m kinda handy with mechanical things so I wasted a few hours trying to break into a vehicle I own. That moment of carelessness is going to cost me $75 to have a professional open the vehicle. Loose your keys… So, since I was playing outside with the vehicle til ~4AM, I can already tell today is gonna seem really long. Have a great day, Friends! Work hard, and do good work. We started the week with no rain in the next two weeks’ forecasts, but ended up with over 2” of rain across both days. Oddly, even with that amount of rain it seems as if the lake in our basement is going down! Hopefully the floor will be dry tomorrow or the next day. Good night, NOSTR friends! I hope your day was good - packed with a lot of accomplishments. My day good, though I had an unpleasant surprise when I went into my basement this morning to get some ground beef out of the freezer for my wife. There were 4” of water on the basement floor. The water was 2” above the base of our new furnace; it was above the base of our freezers and dehumidifier, numerous items, boxes, and totes were overturned; and I believe most of those items are lost. I checked to see if the drain is blocked, but it is not. I think when we received that 3.5” of rain it raised the water table and flooded the basement. Sleep well, my Friends! Tomorrow will be here soon enough, and we do our work again. If you think of them, and if you mare so inclined - no matter your politics - you might say a prayer for the people in Israel & Iran whose lives are being impacted by the current war, and for wisdom and safety for those who are executing the war.
