Good news! Dad is home from the hospital! He has some antibiotics, and told a 3-4-hour nap after driving to pick up a few things and scripts on the way home. I don’t think he’ll be going to church tomorrow, but I am really glad he is doing better. Take care, All!

Good night, NOSTR Friends! I’m going to turn in in a few minutes. I went to see dad at the hospital. He is getting better. I think I remember him saying he was told he had an infection in his intestine. They treated it with antibiotics, and are feeding him things lite yogurt to foster re-growing good bacteria. They are talking about releasing him tomorrow, for which I am extremely grateful. I am thankful for hospitals-to a point - but I don’t want to be there longer than necessary. Good morning, NOSTR Friends! I hope you’re well. This morning is somewhat cloudy, but not currently raining. The Weather Channel app says it is 68, and today’s high temp will be 77. (Nearly perfect temps, imo!) Basement reports: there is still water on the floor in places, but the floor is drying, as I had (again) pumped out standing water and turned on the dehumidifier. This afternoon my wife and I will be heading to a local hospital to visit my dad and take a charging cable for his phone. We are hoping he’ll be well and discharged from the hospital by sometime tomorrow afternoon so he can be in church on Sunday. I hope you enjoy your day, even if you’re in the mines! Good morning, NOSTR Friends! I hope you’re well this morning. I wipe up to what seems like a nice treat - it actually feels nice outside this morning! It is nice that the humidity has left and it is cool and breezy now. The Weather App says it is 74 now, and our high temp today will be 82 with a mix of clouds and sun. I’m going to get ready and head out for my daily walk. My wife and one of the not-so-littles will be home soon from doing morning chores at the stable where one of the 4-H projects lives. Good morning, NOSTR Friends! I hope you’re well today. I just got home from a 3.6-mile walk. It is humid this morning, but not hot. There is a slight breeze, and the birds sound happy. I was planning to go to a local archaeological dig this morning, but the fellow I’d be riding with wasn’t feeling well and cancelled. Today I went for a 4.2 - mile walk, and since then I’ve scanned a number of old (pre-2022) Bitcoin wallets - and found no old coins. 🙁 Since those wallets were unused, I discarded those files. I’m currently between wallets and BTC Core is catching up on sync-ing with the network. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the mid 90’s here in northern Ohio, and I’ll be spending the day in AC with family. 😀 Have a great night, all! Sleep well, and keep working toward your freedom!

It has been a long wait (about 2-3 months), but I finally have my very own copy of Bitcoin Core downloaded, fully updated, and running on my local computer! My next step will be to install/convert? to a BTC Lightning node. I am so happy to have the BTC full node fully updated (starting from block 0) and running! My next "big" purchase is a spare SSD or HDD. I want to copy this current drive to a new drive so I have a spare one in case this one dies. I might grab a 2 TB drive instead of the 1 TB drive I'm currently using.

My instance of BTC Core has successfully completed downloading the blockchain. I am now going to start on installing/converting to a Lightning node.
