It's impressive how mosques feel different than churches. (I have been a Muslim for only a few weeks now.) In a mosque, there is a strong sense of community. Before prayer time, adults often sit with groups of children to teach them how to recite the Quran. Everyone greets one another. When comes the time for the call to prayer, there isn't a specific person assigned for it. Sometimes, a child decides to make the call to prayer. Yesterday, the imam wasn't there and some guy from Sudan led the whole prayer. He had the deepest voice and the most beautiful recitation. This never happens in a church. You don't talk to one another. The priest is untouchable and there is no way to talk to him.
