Even 2% Inflation Is Too Much https://mises.org/power-market/even-2-inflation-too-much > Alex Pollock’s latest letter to the editor at the WSJ appeared on Saturday, November 1: > As your editorial (”Getting Used to 3% Inflation,” October 25-26) suggests, 3% is a lot of inflation, much worse than 2%, which is already too high. At sustained 2% inflation, which the Federal Reserve promises, average prices will nearly quintuple in a lifetime of 80 years and the dollar will shrink to a value of 20 cents. At 3%, average prices will multiply by more than 10 times, and the dollar will become 9 cents. Neither satisfies the goal of “stable prices” assigned by the Federal Reserve Act, but 3% misses by a mile. As the great Paul Volcker wrote in his autobiography, “The real danger comes from encouraging or inadvertently tolerating rising inflation and its close cousin of extreme speculation.” > Yours truly, > Alex J. Increases in the Money Supply, Not Corporate Profits, Drive Price Increases https://mises.org/mises-wire/increases-money-supply-not-corporate-profits-drive-price-increases by Frank Shostak > The “greedflation” commentators are at it again, claiming that corporate profits are driving inflation. That is a logical impossibility.

When Regulation, Not Capitalism, Creates Fake Jobs https://mises.org/mises-wire/when-regulation-not-capitalism-creates-fake-jobs by Alexis Sémanne > Among the criticisms of capitalism is that it supposedly creates meaningless jobs created by villainous capitalists to keep people docile. However, it is state power and regulation that makes many jobs little more than meaningless make work. With all the Feds being laid off this year, and greatly reduced government funding for propaganda purposes, I've been thinking about how these jobs contribute to elevated prices. These millions of people were/are bidding up the prices of resources without adding to what's available to consume.

Easy-Money Policy Accelerates as the Fed Freezes QT and Lowers the Target Rate https://mises.org/mises-wire/easy-money-policy-accelerates-fed-freezes-qt-and-lowers-target-interest-rate by Ryan McMaken > Once we look past the Fed’s excuses, it’s likely we’re witnessing the Fed give up on its two-percent target in real time. ![](https://m.stacker.news/115352) ![](https://m.stacker.news/115353) ![](https://m.stacker.news/115354) ![](https://m.stacker.news/115355) We've been talking about this for a long time: 3% is probably the new 2%. *BRRRRRRRRRRR*

Most NFL Wins? The Colts have the best record so far. If they win out, they will have a record of 19-1, which means I accidentally left some free money in [my new Predyxion market]( What will end up being the most wins any team has this season, including the playoffs?
