How easy it is to get angry once again. Yet, I won’t. FtFF.

*** Low Time Preference gets you higher *** Peace ***

One giant confession, projected upon bitcoiners.
The truth is all there is. No hiding.

Disclaimer: I am by no means telling anyone to have children or not, but a certain vibe and attitude surrounding offspring has been creeping in over the years. It bothers me.
Many potential future parents, who would’ve chosen life without a second thought in a not so distant past, are now hesitating.
To my memory, hesitation is occurring naturally among those even remotely considering parenthood. It happened to me.
Today’s twist seems to be the altered social tissue (not merely family ties). If negativity becomes the predominant response in case of doubt, hesitation in turn remains stuck in a status quo. The increased level of doubters then adds to the negativity, whether justified or not. Potential parents are left with FUD instead of good advice!
Even bitcoiners and other hard money advocates with a healthy (wealthy) stance in life - including DYOR skills - fall into this category. It’s understandable but far from desirable.
It is a societal trap.
Not everyone is predestined to be a parent. That’s never been different. I just cannot help but notice that conception and family-building is openly or covertly frowned upon and avoided, due to reasons looking like pretexts.
I cannot ascribe that only to broken money. It’s complex but the societal paradox does apply to all categories of people, whether ideologically, by incident or linked to other causes.
Hesitation leads to lost time. Procrastination often ends up in cancellation altogether.
That’s a net-zero society’s goal.
‘Bitcoin is time’ is a grand slogan. ‘Bitcoin is hope’, another one.
‘Children are hope’ doesn’t seem to catch on as much, however.
‘Children are the future’ doesn’t appear to fare as well either.
Yet, I’m convinced there’s more long-term hope nested in kids than there is in hard money.
The combination of children and hard money is an absolute low time preference BEAST as well as an excellent recipe for thriving future generations. Few look at life that way these days.
Hard money advocates and LTP people (like bitcoiners) should lead the way. They shouldn’t fall into the same trap as so many others. They should just apply their knowledge gained to offspring, be it their own or others’.
1. Cherish time >< Waste time
2. Foster new life >< Reject new life
3. Value new life >< Denounce new life
4. Use available tools >< Wait for handouts
Either:
Use the tools and teach the kids, yours or others.
BTC + next generations = Hope with an extended future.
Or:
Wait for handouts and become a tool.
CBDC + dead generations = Nihilism with no future.

Mandated solidarity is the opposite of solidarity.
Have a nice day!
Good month everyone!

Been using an iPhone despite contemplating a Graphene phone as an additional device for two years (can’t cancel iPhone due to work and other constraints).
Been using a Windows laptop despite contemplating a Linux laptop for five years (Windows would be replaced by Linux in that case).
Which move would be the best first step? Linux laptop or additional Graphene phone?
