While dumb, I think it is a useful heuristic to weed out people who are not ready to make their own decisions about things. For years when I’ve gotten various flavors of the “but, but, we don’t know who satoshi is!?” I simply said that they should assume that Jeffrey Epstein is Satoshi. The idea that we have to know who invented the thing and that the inventor or pioneer of the thing must be good and “approved” for the thing to be good and useful is a line of logic that is pushed only for sheep control. On the way to the airport a car with grim reaper window decals cuts me off by a margin of inches only to cut back across 4 lanes of traffic. Flight home is turbulent the whole way through. Have a horrible nightmare that the plane breaks apart mid air. I accept it, I feel the air sucked out of my lunges and a blast of frigid air across my face. I wake up with a jolt, gasping, in the timeline where the plane is still intact. It is snowing heavily when I land, and I live in a place that rarely gets snow. I decide to get an uber XL and luckily they send an Escalade. Roads are an absolute disaster. On the highway, the car ahead of us spins out, winds up parallel to traffic. We swerve and do a full 180 across 4 lanes, stopping facing oncoming headlights. The car closest to us adjusts to prevent a head on collision by just a few inches. 3 or 4 other cars are able to come to a full stop. It takes us at least 90 seconds to get turned back around, thankfully there is a huge gap in traffic behind us. No more than 30 second after we turn around and all the cars are back to about 30 mph a semi comes through pushing 70, changing lanes. Half a minute of time saving our 5 cars from being bowling pins. I am back home now. I have hugged my loving wife. I am shaken but unharmed. I am blessed and grateful. And I find that I can now no longer take seriously, so many unserious things.
